Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth (born August 11, 1983) is an Australian actor who gained worldwide fame for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He garnered attention in Australia for playing Kim Hyde in the popular series "Home and Away." Hemsworth starred on the show for three years, departing in 2007. He came to Hollywood soon after and made his studio acting debut with a brief appearance as Captain Kirk's father, George Kirke, in J.J. Abrams' 2009 "Star Trek" reboot. Hemsworth's Marvel role arrived in 2011 when the first "Thor" movie opened. The actor would go on to headline three standalone "Thor" sequels: 2013's "Thor: The Dark World," 2017's "Thor: Ragnarok" and 2022's "Thor: Love and Thunder." He's also played Thor in other Marvel movies such as "The Avengers," "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame." Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Hemsworth headlines Netflix's "Extraction" action franchise and appeared in films such as "Rush," "Blackhat," "Vacation," "Ghostbusters," "Bad Times at the El Royale," "Men in Black: International" and more. While Hemsworth is best known for action roles, he has expressed continued interest in tackling more dramatic roles such as his turn in Ron Howard's race car drama "Rush." Hemsworth is playing the villain character in George Miller's 'Mad Max. Fury Road" prequel movie "Furiosa."
