The Dark Knight returns. Prime Video has debuted the first trailer for “Batman: Caped Crusader,” a new animated series executive produced by “Batman: The Animated Series” co-creator Bruce Timm, as well as J.J. Abrams and “The Batman” director Matt Reeves.
The first footage reveals a brewing gang war in Gotham City, as well as a police campaign to hunt down Batman. The trailer also teases numerous villains from the DC Comics, including the Penguin, Catwoman, Harley Quinn and District Attorney-turned-criminal Harvey Dent. Viewers are also given a preview of Hamish Linklater‘s voice performance as the Caped Crusader/Bruce Wayne.
Along with Linklater, the voice cast includes Christina Ricci as Catwoman aka Selina Kyle, Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn and Diedrich Bader as Harvey Dent. Other notable actors among the voice ensemble include Minnie Driver, McKenna Grace, Eric Morgan Stuart, Michelle C. Bonilla, Krystal Joy Brown, John DiMaggio, Paul Scheer, Reid Scott, Tom Kenny, Jason Watkins, Gary Anthony Williams, Dan Donohue, David Krumholtz, Haley Joel Osment and Toby Stephens.
“Batman: Caped Crusader” comes from Warner Bros. Animation, Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho. Along with Timm, Abrams and Reeves, the series is executive produced by Ed Brubaker, James Tucker, Daniel Pipski, Rachel Rusch Rich and Sam Register. Prime Video placed a two-season order for the animated series after the project was scrapped by its original distributor, Warner Bros. Discovery’s streamer Max.
